Anorexia
and bulimia are parity diagnosis in California.
What that means is that health plans must
cover these diagnoses on par with other medical
diagnoses. In other words, they cannot exclude
these diagnoses from their benefits.
Pacifica is contracted with most health
plans and managed care companies. We work
directly with payer to ensure treatment
is as affordable as possible.
In today’s world, many high-end eating
disorder treatment programs do not contract
with health plans and are very expensive.
The costs are any where from $1,500 to $2,400
per day, and often require a 30 to 60 day
commitment. Most families cannot afford
this!!
